Job Summary

Manager Legal- Mumbai(LLM/LLB Qualified)

Location- Mumbai work from office


Litigation & Dispute Management

1. Developing a Litigation and dispute Resolution strategy for cost effective resolution of

disputes and litigations, including out of court settlements.

2. IT enablement - Developing and monitoring Database, SOP and MIS for Domestic and

International litigation

3. Customer Recovery Management

a. Analyse and guide business on debtor management based on outstanding debtor

update shared by NPPL finance

b. Monitor legal status (whether already under litigation)

4. Preparing drafts, ensuring availability of undisputed evidence of outstanding dues and

preparing supporting documents (COPs/ Client Ledger Confirmations / Correspondence etc.)

accordingly, and in line with the legal action to be initiated.

5. To decide on legal action to be initiated as a pressure tactic with the sole objective of

recovering outstanding dues vide

a) Sending Demand Notice under NCLT (Fast and Preferable)

b) Filing complaints with Police Stations to show malafide intentions.

c) To initiate Arbitration proceedings.

d) To file Civil / Summary / Commercial suit.

e) Filing cheque bouncing matters

f) Filing Interim Applications against IRP/RPs whenever felt applicable

g) Filing for stays against Bank Guarantee Invocations by client (timeline -24 to 48 hrs )

h) To consider out-of-the-box strategies to initiate recovery of outstanding dues by writing

to statutory bodies (GST / RERA / Direct Client Heads / filing of RTI / Income Tax etc.)

i) Attending all hearings

6. Attending/Replying to the Legal Notices with respect to Employment laws & monitoring the matters thereafter.

7. Keeping track of Public Notices of existing debtors being declared insolvent under the CIRP

and filing Claim Form within the stipulated deadline.

8. To keep track of all claims filed with the IRP by sending monthly reminders for :-

a) Reflection of Claim amount on the IRP/ Client Portal.

b) Checking progress of the payment schedule status under the CIRP

9. Engaging the lawyers & Legal cost management.

10. Contract Management Drafting, structuring the deal, negotiations etc. Evaluation of RFP,

Bid documents for large infra projects and preparation of the risk and deviation matrix to

advise the operations team about the risk involved in the project and advise on the

mitigation and to prepare an appropriate contract. Prepare standard template and bespoke

contracts wherever possible.

11. Advising in the areas of Employment, GST, Contract Labor and other operating laws

impacting constriction industry.

Review Meetings

1. Ensure effective participation in divisional Review meetings to obtain feedback on IPR and

recovery matters.


2. Conduct review meetings with internal team and external legal partners on the progress and

processes, identify areas needing improvement and ensure execution of action plans for

achieving targets.

Legal Compliance

1. Ensuring Legal Compliance in all areas of company business operations on ongoing basis.

2. Ensuring compliance of law and contractual obligations with business partners.

3. IT enablement & implementation if Online Compliance Tool as feasible regarding compliance

by different units.

4. Proactive awareness building among internal stakeholders about the compliance

requirement and changes of law. Preparing guidance notes on areas of law applicable to

company business.

5. To update on change of laws and regulations from time to time and ensure compliances


Legal Advisory & Capability buildi

1. As an enabler to business, reach out to different divisions, identify the issues and proactively

advise to ensure business continuity.

2. Advising Business on day-to-day basis on different areas of operations, sales and marketing,

advertising & sales promotions HR etc as may be required to ensure business continuity.

3. Developing & Implementing Process on Legal clearance for different activities.

4. Resolving legal queries/advising internal customers for allocated business divisions and


5. Developing expertise in emerging legal areas, as per the business needs and periodic legal

updates to Sr Stakeholders.
