Job Summary

Job Purpose: 
The Construction Manager is responsible for all construction work & construction activities, construction management, safety management, constructability review, etc. for the project, coordination within the design and construction team of internal and EPC/EPCM Consultant and ensure that all capital projects delivered are technically fit for purpose and meet the statutory requirements. 


Job Location: 
Based at Dahej, Gujarat, during the project construction phase and during Detail Engineering Phase, required to travel from Dahej to CRODA Office at Navi Mumbai or Consultant Office in Mumbai on need basis. 
Reporting: Reports to Project Director 
Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech in preferably Mechanical Engineering from reputed AICTE Approved Institutions having NBA Accredited Courses / UGC recognised Universities. 
 

Experience, Knowledge, skills & competency: 
1. 17 to 22 years of relevant experience in managing Greenfield & Brownfield Projects for Pharmaceutical / Chemical / Speciality Chemical / Agrochemical industries. 
2. Minimum 12 years worked as Construction Manager from Client or for EPCM/EPC consultants, where project cost is in range of around 2000 MINR to 4000 MINR. 
3. Strong knowledge and working experience in various phase of projects like Conceptual Design, FEED, Detail Engineering, Construction, Mechanical Completion, Commissioning & Project Close out. 
4. Must have strong experience, understanding and managed of various Authority Approvals required for the project at various stages like before construction, during construction, before start of operation, etc. 
5. Expert level knowledge in understanding, preparing, and interpreting drawings, documents & plans like Time Schedule, Cost Estimation, Construction Management Plan, Construction Safety Management, Permit to Work, Safety KPIs, Design Basis, BOQ, Tender, Contracts, Technical Specifications, Site Contour Survey, Site Grading, Site Levels, Benchmarking, Site Master Plan, Roads, Roads Cross Sections, Landscape work, etc. 
6. Strong knowledge and experience in executing all kind of construction work, delegating daily Workfront to contractors for Civil, Structure & Architecture (CSA), Piping Fabrication & Installation, Piping Hydrotest, Flushing & Cleaning, Instrument Installation, Pre Engineered Building (PEB), Fire Fighting & Sprinkler System, Electrical & LVS Work, Instrumentation, DCS, HVAC, Quality Management, Quality Control, Quality Assurance Plan, Quality Checks, ITP, Site Enabling Work, Geotechnical Survey, Equipment Installation, Mechanical Completion, Construction Completion, Commissioning and Project Closing. 

7. Must possess Strong negotiations skills, leadership skills, good networking, aptitude in decision- making and working with numbers, experience in collecting and analysing data, excellent written and oral communication skills. 


Roles & Responsibilities: 
1. Responsible for implementation and strictly adherence to Safety Management at site as per CRODA’s Group Policies, SHE Polices, Guidelines, Construction Safety Manual. 
2. Responsible to ensure implementation of Safe Work Permit system at site, avoid safety bypass, shortcuts, always remember “NO SAFE WORK PERMIT, NO WORK”. 
3. Responsible for get it done from Contractors / EPCM Consultant all kind of construction work, 
delegating daily Workfront to for Civil, Structure & Architecture (CSA), Piping, Pre Engineered Building 
(PEB), Fire Fighting & Sprinkler System, Electrical & LVS Work, Instrumentation, DCS, HVAC, Quality 
Control, Quality Assurance Plan, Quality Checks, ITP, Site Enabling work, Geotechnical Survey, etc. 
through EPCM Consultant and get it completed as per defined schedule.
