Job Title: Associate Manager-Logistics-

Reporting Manager: Asst. Manager Logistics

Function: Supply Chain & Logistics

Location: Chennai/Bangalore

 

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Effective and efficient management of Logistics and Supply chain operations at Regional location towards ensuring enhanced service levels and optimum spends.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

1. Transport Management

- Performance monitoring with respect to TIT, truck utilization, truck placement resulting in reduction of

OOS at warehouses and reduced cost/ton spends

- Truck Type selection for movements resulting in higher truck utilization and reduction in cost/kg

- Optimum route planning in coordination with the HO and freight negotiation in optimizing spend

- Explore the alternative means of transport ti improve cost effectiveness

- Providing feedback on arrival condition to origin points resulting in reduced damages and improved

delivered quality

2. WSP Managementa

- Space management to enhance storage space with respect to forecasted volumes resulting in reduction in

truck demurrage charges, improvements in truck turnaround time during loading and unloading.

- Addressing the warehouse infrastructure requirement, expansion, consolidation when required

- Monitoring WSP performance in terms of truck turnaround time, storage space utilization, material

handling, safety and hygiene; benchmarking to the best in the Industry

- Infrastructure development and new go down selection, service provider evaluation for the same

- Yearly contracts execution and spend management in WSP operations for the region

- Process improvement initiatives and implementation of divisional projects

 

- Plan and Conduct quarterly audits for all warehouses and prepare evaluation report along with solution

report

- Ensure EHS compliance and Pest Control at all the Regional warehouses

3. Systems and Processes

- Ensure timely execution of sales and stock transfer orders

- Ensure that all GRNs have been completed and posted in SAP within the time frame set by co. and

report back to HO and concerned warehouse in case of differences and mismatch

- Ensure that all the sales returns have been posted properly in SAP and coordination with HO team for

difference if any, maintain sales return track for further ready reference

 

4. Inventory Management

- Ensure that all the stocks are stacked in the warehouse and as per SOP and available space should be

effectively utilized with in prescribed utilized norms

- Ensure Zero inventory difference between physical stock & SAP

- Ensuring perpetual inventory system/cycle count on a daily basis in all the warehouses

- Ensure monthly reconciliations of stock and action taken in case of difference.

5. Statutory Compliance

- Ensure statutory compliance in regard to warehouse like VAT registration certificate, licenses, display

boards and etc.

- Endorsements of additional places of business, co ordinations with HO team for timely endorsement

- Approvals in place for all the requirements

6. Vendor Management

- Build & Manage relationships with 3P logistics partner & vendor

- Liaison & Negotiate effectively with vendors to ensure cost control

- Vendor evaluation, risk assessment, and selection

- Ensure the outstanding statements are received every quarter from all WSPs

- Receive “no dues” certificates from all the WSPs and applicable transporters

7. People Development

- Develop warehouse team on SAP and warehouse operations & standard practices

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Over 4 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, including warehousing and transportation
  • Experience in FMCG/FMCD/any other product company
  • MBA or equivalent degree in Supply Chain Management and logistics
