Job Summary

We are looking to hire an EHS professional with RLI/Equivalent certification for Chemical Factory located in Pondicherry. We prefer quick joiners who along match with below criteria.

 

Designation:         Sr.Executive / Executive - EHS

Qualification:        ME (Industrial Safety) or BE (Chemical) with RLI

Experience:           3 to 5 Yrs.

Job Location:        Pondicherry

 

Specific Task:

 

Work Permit: Permit Clearance, monitoring the various safety work permits issued.

 

Training programs: Training programme for new comers, contractors, transporters and technicians in various EHS related topics.

 

PPE availability & Quality upkeep: Ensure the availability of PPE’s and maintain adequate stocks according to consumption.

 

Unsafe Act & unsafe conditions: Identification of unsafe conditions/acts and ensure corrective/ preventive action compliance arrived.

 

Incident / Near miss reporting: Prepare a report for all incidents and near misses.

 

Life Saving equipments: Upkeep the life saving equipments like SCBA, CASCADE, and Canister masks are in good condition.   

 

Safety facilities: Upkeep of Fire Hydrant System, Fire Extinguishers & other safety systems in good working condition.

 

Promoting safety culture: Conducting various promotional activities like safety quiz, poems, etc,  in national safety day/week celebration, national fire day, world environmental day for creating safety awareness to employees/ contractors etc,

 

Management Information system: Preparation of weekly, monthly reports & other necessary reports.

 

Statutory follow-ups / Records upkeep with special focus on IF matters: Organizing to conduct 3rd party inspection, testing and certification of material handling/pressure vessels etc, maintaining the statutory records. Organizing the safety committee meeting & complying with various safety recommendations.

 

Management systems: Meet the requirements of EMS/OSHA Management systems & comply with Audit findings.

 

Safety Audits / Recommendation compliance: Preparation of compliance report, action plan and target for the completion plan.

 

Upkeep of Safety Gadgets: Maintaining all the safety Gadgets like explosive meter etc in good working condition.

 

Organising on-site /Offsite Mock drills: Organising on/off-site emergency mock drills periodically and updating the Emergency   Preparedness Response plan accordingly.

 

Regular Task :

 

  1. To monitor various Safety work permits issued and ensure safety regulations
  2. Updating & upkeep of all statutory Records.
  3. Ensuring the Eyewash, Body wash fountains & Body washtub is in good  working condition
  4. Ensure  all SCBA and CASCADE type breathing apparatus in good working condition
  5. Fire Hydrants periodical checking & preventive maintenance  (once in 15 days)
  6. Fire Extinguishers Periodical checking (once in 15 days) and ensuring annual maintenance carried out once in three months by external agencies.
